Pirates, Pints and Pancakes

Avast ye, the Fernandina Pirates Club, Inc. is hosting a pancake breakfast on Saturday, September 6, 2014. Held at the Applebee’s Restaurant in Fernandina Beach, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., costumed Pirate members will raise funds and increase awareness for the Fernandina Pirate’s community blood drives and the inaugural multi-genre festival, Amelia Con.

Join the Pirates for a fun-filled day by starting it off with filling rations of flapjacks, pork products, stirred eggs, coffee and juice for the incredibly low price of ten Sacagaweas or $10.00 per person. Gather ye crew of youngsters, and the young at heart landlubbers, and treat them to a Jolly Roger good time at Applebee’s, found at the corner of Sadler Road and 8th Street, Amelia Island, savvy? Tickets may be pillaged from Pirate members prior to the event or at the door.

Fernandina Pirates hold monthly blood drives where they suggest you “donate a pint before they spill one for you.” The pirates have two Amelia Island donation sites, alternating monthly: the Loop Restaurant parking lot and the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market on N. 7th Street in historic, downtown. You have the most precious resource of all – the ability to save a life by donating blood. Help share this invaluable gift with someone in need and donate with the Pirates on September 6th at the farmers’ market from 9:00 to 1:30 p.m.

Amelia Con also takes place on September 6th, at the Fernandina Beach Recreation Center and the Woman’s Club of Fernandina Beach. A family friendly event, the convention will come alive with Pirates and other costumed players and fans celebrating their favorite shows, books and games. Tickets are $12.00.
