On the 21st of February in the year of our Lord 2023, the Mayor of Fernandina Beach, FL proclaimed that day the official Fernandina Pirates Club 50th Anniversary date.
Several Pirates were present that evening and did their absolute best to be on good behavior.

The City of Jacksonville Beach welcomes you to the 73rd Annual Opening of the Beaches Parade! This FREE, family-friendly event “officially” starts the beach season. One of the Pirate Club’s favorite annual events, it is the City’s purpose to make this parade an expression of pride and community spirit of the beach’s residents.
The Parade is April 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., and will start on 2nd Street and 4th Ave North in Jacksonville Beach. It will go north along 2nd Street to 11th Ave. The parade will turn east on 11th Ave, go one block, then turn south on 1st Street. The parade will then continue along 1st Street and conclude at Beach Boulevard.
The Fernandina Pirates recently held their annual election and after serving two terms, Larmacdog has turned the ship’s wheel over to Sea Gypsy. (more…)
Sounds on Centre is a free event, fun for the entire family. Concerts are on the first Friday of the month from April through October, excluding May to enjoy the Shrimp Festival. Sounds on Centre is located at the intersection of Second Street and Centre Street in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach. Florida.
Shows are from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, and you are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and your dancing shoes so you can dance with members of the Fernandina Pirates Club.
Sounds on Centre T-shirts will be available for purchase and raffle drawings will be held throughout the event with prizes donated by local community businesses and retailers. All proceeds go to advertising efforts of the organization.

Pirates Receive Proclamation for 1st Fernandina Pirate Festival
WHEREAS, in case you didn’t realize it, Fernandina Beach is rich in pirate history. Thus, it was only a matter of time before the Fernandian Pirate Club, Inc. would create an Annual Festival.There’s not much time to refresh your knowledg of pirate lingo before everyone in town is blathering about grog like scurby bilge rats; and
WHEREAS, Fernandina Beach was all about pirates long before pirates were cool, in fact, it’s hard to find a more pirate-friendly destination. The fernandina Pirate Club has been entertaining crowds and promoting the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival, Fernandina Beach, and Nassau County since 1973; and
WHEREAS, the Fernandina Pirate Club is 69 members strong. This lively and active organization is involved with numerous charitable civic projects and even sponsors their very own scholarship contests. Member also sepen a fair amount of time strolling Fernandina’s downtown business district on weekend afternoons, handing out beads and spouting, “Aye!” and other authentic pirate greetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Edward E. Boner, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Fernandina Beach, Florida, do hereby encourage the citizens of Fernandina Beach to participate in the festivities prclaiming October 9 – 11, 2015 as the:

Your biography should be two to three short paragraphs. It can be serious or silly. You can use your real name, your pirate name or both! This is all about YOU!!! You may want to include the reasons you are a Pirate, or perhaps how you achieved your Pirate name. You can talk about work, family, friends and other organizations you are passionate about.
This is a great way for the community to know who our Pirate members are and what we represent both individually, as well as our group.
Pictures should be fairly current and “G” rated. They need to be about 300 px wide and of similar height. If you aren’t sure, simply send it to me and I can adjust the image if needed. Take a look at the Current Membership page while it is being constructed and you will get an idea of what we are looking for.

Members of the Fernandina Pirates Club wear a patch, usually on their hat, arm or boot, to show that they are actual members of the Fernandina Pirates Club. During the Shrimp Festival, you may see many different pirates. There are short pirates, tall pirates, pirates wearing many colors, pirates with pistols, pirates with swords, male pirates and female pirates. Pirates come from near and far for the Best Beards Contest, for the Little Pirates Contest, to see the parade, or just to come and play pirate.
As the proclaimed Goodwill Ambassadors to Amelia Island and Nassau County, the Fernandina Pirates Club proudly promotes the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival. The Pirates will be invading before the fireworks show on Friday night and again on Saturday afternoon. In between and on Sunday, you will find club members at the waterfront, the Kids Zone, and everywhere in between, always ready and willing to pose for pictures.
When you spot a scallywag, wearing a Fernandina Pirates Club patch, wanderin’ the streets during the 50th Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival, don’t be a-feared, they are your hearties. Just walk up and say, “Ahoy!” or maybe, “Arrr!”
