It is almost time for the 2016 Pirate Treasure Hunt and Pub Crawl. The Pirates Club has several activities on the agenda for October 14th and 15th, 2016:

Friday, October 14, 2016:
-Fernandina Home Football Game – Pirate tradition has club members enjoying an old fashioned, small town football game. If you’d like to do this rather than attend the Pirate Treasure Hunt and Pub Crawl (below) you are welcome to cheer on the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. (The high school is located at 435 Citrona Drive in Fernandina.)
-Pirate Treasure Hunt and Pub Crawl – Enjoy a private, after hours tour of Fernandina Beach’s Marlin & Barrel Distillery from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Following the tour will be a Pirate Treasure Hunt and Pub Crawl from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with many participating venues located in our historic downtown. There will be drink specials at all participating locations for those with the proper treasure maps! First 60 ticket sales get commemorative treasure beads.

Saturday, October 15, 2016:
-5th Annual Amelia Island Pirate Invitational Pirate members will start the races for the students at the municipal golf course beginning at 7:30 a.m.
-Maritime Museum of Amelia Island Tours Many artifacts on display in the museum will capture your imagination and offer insight to understanding the rich maritime history of Amelia Island. Located at 115 S 2nd Street, Suite B, in downtown Fernandina Beach.
-Fernandina Pirate Club Blood Drive – Donate a Pint, or We’ll Spill a Quart
Blood Drive is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot of The Loop, located at the corner of Sadler Road and 14th Street. Prefer to donate? CLICK HERE to set up an appointment.
-Pirate’s Private Dinner Party – Join the Pirates for a deconstructed Low Country Boil (cooked separately to avoid allergies) with music and drink specials from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Afterwards, all who don Pirate wear can take advantage of drink specials at both Sheffield’s and the Palace Saloon until 10:00 p.m. Doors open to the public at 8:00 p.m. with a $5.00 cover charge being donated to the Fernandina Pirates Club. Door prizes and raffle tickets will be available throughout the event.

2015 Fernandina Pirates’ Ball Benefits NHS

The Fernandina Pirates Club will be hosting the 2015 Pirates Ball as part of their 1st Fernandina Pirate Festival. This is a costumed event that is open to the public – adults only, please. Tickets are $25.00 each; this event WILL sell out, so get your tickets early!

There will be live music with King Eddie and Pili Pili. King Eddie plays with the popular Jacksonville Reggae band “Pili Pili” which was named after the Swahili word for “hot sauce.” Pili Pili was a fixture at the Panama Bay Club and on the local concert circuit performing on the same bill with the Crusaders, Miles Davis, Spyra Gyra, Branford Marsalis and Third World, to name a few. King Eddie and Pili Pili have long been popular with the Northeast Florida music fans. Amongst the Reggae bands of the area they shine like a bright star with personality, great sounds, and undeniable audience appeal.

At the Royal Ball you will also enjoy a silent auction, door prizes, a costume contest, a Southern dinner catered by the FSCJ Culinary Arts Department, dessert, dancing, cocktails and more!

Vending at the Fernandina Pirate Festival

The Fernandina Pirate Festival is now accepting vendor applications. The Festival will be open to attendees at the Atlantic Avenue Recreation Center (outdoors) on Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11, 2015. The cost to have a booth as a merchant at the Fernandina Pirate Festival will be for $50.00 for one (1) 10X10 tent space and $100.00 for a 10X20 space. Additional 10′ sections of space will be an additional charge of $25.00. (Tents must be 10X10, larger tents require a special permit with the City of Fernandina Beach.)

There is a $20.00 refundable trash removal fee that must be included with the application for all merchants. Fee refunded upon leaving the site upon proof of your removal of all trash generated by your business.

Spaces are assigned on first come, first served basis. Merchants must be completely set up 9:30 AM on the both days of the event, October 10th and 11th, 2015. The event will open to the public at 10:00 AM. (10 to 5:30 on Saturday, and 10 to 3 on Sunday.)

All vehicles must be removed from the festival grounds no later than 9:15 AM each day of the event.

Break-down after the event must NOT begin before 5:30 PM on October 10, 2015, and 3:00 PM on closing day, Octocer 11, 2015. All vehicles, tents and merchandise must be removed from the premises by 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 11, 2015.

Please understand that this agreement will serve as a contract once accepted. Your fee and the adult/minor liability form must be summitted with this application.

Should the applicant not be accepted, the fees will refunded. Vendor is responsible for its own insurance. Those without insurance are considered self insured for this event and will indemnify Fernandina Pirate festival from all claims.

Pirates Seek Logo for 1st Fernandina Pirate Festival

We are having a festival!!!

That’s right, Matey! We, the Fernandina Pirates Club, Inc. are throwing our first ever, inaugural Fernandina Pirate Festival on October 9th, 10th and 11th, 2015.

Pirates from all over the seven seas are invited to attend. Festivities begin with Pirates marching, from the Veteran’s Memorial on Atlantic Avenue to 2nd and Ash Streets, parade style, where pirates will muster for opening ceremonies and then be set free to ravage and pillage historic, Fernandina Beach, on Amelia Island, Florida.

Saturday and Sunday, the Atlantic Avenue Recreational Center grounds will be home to the festival with family friendly entertainment, music, vendor tents, food booths, demonstrations, educational exhibits and more.

Saturday evening brings the Pirate’s Ball. Celebrating the Club’s 43rd year, this will be a ticketed event that includes a southern feast, costume contest and dancing to live music inside the Recreational Center.

The Fernandina Pirate Festival will conclude Sunday afternoon with closing ceremonies.

But, to get the ball really rolling, the Pirates need a logo for the event. Be as creative as you’d like, but please keep the following information in mind:

-The name of the club is Fernandina Pirates Club, Inc
-This is a family friendly event
-This is the 1st event
-The name of the event is Fernandina Pirate Festival

What does the winning artist receive? Well, since they are Pirates they have promised not to draw blood from the winner, but to honor the winning artist and a guest at the Pirates Ball on Saturday night. And of course, what all good pirates really want are “bragging rights” – so the winning artist will get those, too. As a non-profit, they hate to promise too much, but don’t be surprised if they plunder a few more prizes for the winner.

All artist entries must be sent to info@FernandinaPirates.com or mailed to Fernandina Pirates Club, P.O. Box 17243, Fernandina Beach, FL 32035. (Emails are answered by a volunteer, please be patient as the email is NOT checked on a daily basis.)

All submissions must be received or post-marked by midnight on June 30, 2015.
