Members of the Fernandina Pirates Club recently expressed their desire to have a party! Not a club event, not a Pirate’s Ball, but simply a party where club members, swabbies and their families could gather together and enjoy an afternoon. The Board of Directors pitched in the funds and the Captain’s Butts-N-Buns Party was planned.
Held at the community pool of our immediate past president, food and drinks were in ample supply on this chilly November Sunday. The skies were clear and the air was warm in the sun, but no one dared jump into the swimming pool. There was plenty of fellowship, laughter, music and even Jaguar football was on the TV.
A Pirate Trivia Contest was organized by The Lady Judith, complete with prizes. You may think you know all about Pirates, but the questions were not all as easy as you would believe.
We got to meet significant others, children, in-laws and grandchildren of our members. All in all in was a fantastic day! If you missed it, it is indeed your loss – but be sure to come the next time one is planned for the club.
